Opportunity for an Account and Logistics Coordinator – Export/ Import to join a leader in the import and export of commodities. The role will involve freight forwarding and bulk shipping administrative work ensuring that all orders are processed efficiently for our client’s international customer base and that all relevant paperwork and documentation is completed.

LOCATION: Thatcham, Berkshire

PREVIOUS JOB TITLES: Export Coordinator, Freight Forwarder, Shipping Co-ordinator, Export Clerk / Coordinator, Compliance, Contracts or Technical Coordinator, Transport Coordinator, Traffic Controller
INDUSTRIES YOU MAY HAVE WORKED IN: Ideally waste management, metal recycling, plastic recycling, paper recycling, SRF or RDF but you will be considered from ANY industry as long as you have worked in a technically focused admin role

Your responsibilities as the Export Coordinator will include:

  • Managing sales and purchase orders for international exports originating from the UK.
  • Customer communication to advise of delivery dates, etc.
  • Liaising with logistics and transport departments
  • Compiling all required export documentation
  • Handling incoming customer enquiries
  • Inputting inventory and sales data into the CRM system for streamlined records.
  • Addressing daily inquiries concerning order status and collections, including handling accounting-related queries
  • Overseeing order management, ensuring shipments meet specified deadlines, and generating monthly warehouse stock reports.

Import Operations:

  • Inputting new budgets and orders guided by the Sales Manager’s directives.
  • Direct liaison with suppliers and UK customers on a day-to-day basis.
  • Negotiating and arranging freight to maximize order contributions while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Handling EU export and UK import clearances, verifying, storing, and disseminating clearances to relevant third parties when needed.
  • Recording worksheets in the CRM and generating customer invoices.
  • Pursuing resolution on claims and addressing technical inquiries to provide comprehensive customer support.


  • Previous experience in an export / shipping / freight or transport environment
  • Customs experience
  • Experience in communicating with customers.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
